Process

The Child Development Ministry is a ministry to the congregation of First UMC and the community, and it is recognized that the need for quality care exceeds our capacity to enroll. Therefore, admission policies have been established.

Prospective parents are required to submit a Wait List Form and a non-refundable fee to place their child on the wait list. Parents must also meet with the Director/Assistant Director, tour CDM, and read the Parent Handbook 2017-2018  before requesting to be on the wait list. Those placed on the wait list, including priority families, are encouraged to make additional arrangements for child care until a space at CDM becomes available. CDM is unable to guarantee spaces and start dates more than 2 weeks in advance.

Children will be enrolled based on the availability of openings, date of application, and age of child. The following priority system will be used:

  1. Children of First UMC and CDM staff and/or First UMC members with siblings currently enrolled at CDM.
  2. Children with siblings currently enrolled.
  3. Children of First UMC members.
  4. All other children.

CDM follows the above priority system; however, there are instances where CDM, as a ministry, deems it necessary to immediately enroll a child who has a particularly urgent need for care. Therefore, CDM reserves the right to consider children of families with special needs as a priority for enrollment.

Upon notification of openings, parents are given 3 working days to accept or decline.

Registration fee and all registration forms must be completed and submitted upon enrollment at CDM and every spring thereafter when registration is announced. Tuition is due the first day the child is enrolled and on Monday of each week.
